An Abundance Of Blessings…

Chrisitan Perspectives Comments Off on An Abundance Of Blessings…

Romans 12:1-2 (KJV)

1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

The Lord wants to give each of us an abundance of blessings.

Let’s explore what is required so that we may enjoy all that He has planned.

Today’s passage clarifies the one necessary condition for receiving His best: full surrender. Every aspect of our being—body, soul, and spirit—is to be a living sacrifice. This may sound dreary, but contrary to human logic, true freedom is found only when we fully yield to Christ.

In the Old Testament, sacrifice was very common. To atone for sin, a person could bring a lamb to the altar. The animal was set apart for God’s purposes as a holy offering, and through its death, restitution was made.

When we give ourselves as a sacrifice, there is, thankfully, no need for our blood to be shed. Jesus died to atone for all our sin. But out of love and gratitude, every aspect of our lives should be dedicated to Him.

What does a surrendered life entail?

Most importantly, it involves complete commitment to Christ, unaltered by the world’s influence. Our desires and old ways of functioning are no longer driving forces. Instead, His Spirit guides, and His will is the goal. Yielding to Him means following His way in attitude, words, thoughts, and deeds—and doing so unapologetically, unwaveringly, fearlessly.

You have a choice—either be content with less than God’s best, or give yourself fully to Him.

Complete surrender is not an easy road; it means dying to your desires and selfishness.

But remember that the Lord is willing and able to do more than we can even imagine.

He Is A Rewarder…

Chrisitan Perspectives Comments Off on He Is A Rewarder…

Hebrews 11:6, (KJV)

“But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.”

Do you see God as a rewarder today?

Notice this verse doesn’t say that God rewards those who “deserve” it or have “earned” it. It doesn’t say that God rewards those who act perfectly and never make mistakes. No, God’s blessing isn’t based on our performance, it’s based on our faith—our belief in Him and His goodness. In fact, one verse says that He longs to be good to those who are looking for His goodness.

I encourage you today to spend some time meditating on His goodness and dwelling on His faithfulness. Spend some time reading the Psalms and begin to praise and thank Him for all He is doing. Imagine through your eyes of faith all the wonderful things He has prepared for you. Let His Word shape your thoughts; and remember, He is a rewarder! He wants to bless you today because you earnestly seek after Him!

TODAY’S PRAYER

Father God, thank You for filling my heart and mind with faith.
You are good, and You are a rewarder.
I choose to put my trust in You knowing that You have blessings in store for my future.

In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Planting The Seed Of Faith…

Chrisitan Perspectives Comments Off on Planting The Seed Of Faith…

Luke 8:15, (KJV)

“But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience”

Sometimes in the natural, we don’t see how God’s promises are going to come to pass in our lives.

It seems like there are so many obstacles to overcome. But we have to see God’s Word like a seed. When it’s planted in our hearts, and we water it by thinking the right thoughts and expecting good things, that little seed begins to grow into something much, much greater.

Jesus told a parable in Mark, chapter four. He said, “God’s Word is like a tiny mustard seed. When it is sown, it is less than all the other seeds, one of the smallest. But when it grows up, it becomes greater than all.”

Notice it goes from being less than all to being greater than all.

Are you in an overwhelming situation today, maybe in your health, finances or relationships? Does God’s promise seem small compared to what you’re facing?

Don’t sit back and think, “Man, it’s never going to get any better. It’s never going to change.” Instead, sow the Word by speaking it every single day. Water that seed by staying in faith because the seed of the Word has supernatural power in it.

It will grow and flourish, and you will see God’s promises come to pass all the days of your life!

TODAY’S PRAYER

Father God, today I choose to sow the Word of God!
Thank You that it will not return void, but it will accomplish what it was sent forth to do!
Thank You for giving every good and perfect gift to Your children.
I bless Your holy name today and always.
In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Following His Instructions…

Chrisitan Perspectives Comments Off on Following His Instructions…

Genesis 6:9-22

A lifestyle of obedience requires commitment and perseverance.

Noah needed both as he obeyed the Lord’s instructions to build a large boat with a roof, doors, and three decks. God spelled out the exact measurements, the type of wood to use, and the way to make the vessel watertight. It was essential that Noah adhere to every detail if the ark was to house all the animals and stay afloat.

Scripture does not describe reactions to the project, but knowing human nature, we can imagine the disbelief and rejection Noah probably experienced. Yet he worked faithfully to the end and  “did everything just as God commanded him” (v. 22 niv).

The Lord wants us to follow His instructions precisely.

Unfortunately, we like to add some of our desires to His plan. We are like a child whose parent assigns three chores. The first is done satisfactorily, the second is put off until another day, and the third is skipped because the girl deems it unnecessary. This is not obedience.

In our case, we know we’re called to show compassion and kindness, forgiving others as the Lord forgave us (Col 3:13). However, our human nature wants to pick and choose which parts of Scripture we’ll obey.

God blesses those who wholeheartedly follow Christ (John 12:26).

Many people in the Bible saw obedience as their goal. Abraham determined to go wherever God led. Moses felt inadequate but still carried out the Lord’s plan. Paul did an about-face to become Christ’s disciple.

Ask the Holy Spirit to empower you to follow the path of righteousness.

Psalm 2:8, (KJV)

“Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession”

Did you know it pleases God when we pray bold prayers and ask Him for big things?

The God we serve doesn’t want us to just barely get by in life. He wants us to thrive and experience the fullness of His blessing. He wants us to not only have our needs met, but be in a position to reach out and help meet the needs of others, too!

When we ask God for something, a supernatural door is opened.

We are showing our faith in Him, and faith gives God something to work with. In fact, scripture says that without faith, it is impossible to please God.

He wants us to come to Him and know His goodness. He wants us to believe that He is good and that He has good things in store for us.

Today, I encourage you to get bold with your prayers. Ask God for big things.

Believe that He is working behind the scenes on your behalf. Put your faith to work because God is faithful. He has big things in store for you and promises to do exceedingly, abundantly above all that you can ever imagine!

TODAY’S PRAYER

Father, today I come to You with an attitude of faith and expectancy.
You said that if I ask anything according to Your will, it will be done.
So I thank You for Your goodness and faithfulness in my life knowing that You are doing a good work in me.
In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Expect Unforeseen Blessings…

Deuteronomy 28:2 (KJV)

“And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God.”

God wants to surprise you with His blessings today!

I hear testimonies all the time of what God is doing suddenly in the lives of His people. Even recently, a man told me how he got a check in the mail unexpectedly, an inheritance from a loved one that he never even met. With that one check, he was able to pay off his house which was a desire of his heart. He thought it was going to take him 30 years, but God had other plans. It happened in a fraction of the time!

Friend, when you’re in covenant with God, when you keep His commands and honor Him with your tithes and offerings, you are positioning yourself under an open window of heaven.

Why don’t you take the limits off your life by stepping out and obeying God? Then, keep an attitude of faith and expectancy because He is good. He loves you with an everlasting love, and He is ready to surprise you with His unexpected blessings!

TODAY’S PRAYER

Gracious heavenly Father, I come before You with an open and humble heart.
Today I surrender all of my questions, cares and concerns because I know You care for me.
Thank You for surprising me with Your love and blessings today.
In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Expect A Cup That Overflows…

Chrisitan Perspectives Comments Off on Expect A Cup That Overflows…

Psalm 81:10, (KJV)

“I am the Lord thy God, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt: open thy mouth wide, and I will fill it.”

Do you have your mouth open wide today?

In other words, are you expecting God to fill you and increase you beyond measure? One thing we have to realize is that negative thinking closes us off to what God wants to do in our lives.

If you go around thinking “Well, I don’t think I’ll ever meet my sales goals this year with the economy like it is;” or “I don’t think I’ll ever get promoted. I’m not that qualified;” or “I don’t think I’ll ever get well,” then the problem is that your mouth is barely open. But Jesus said, “According to your faith, it will be done unto you.”

He might as well have said, “If you’ve got a cup, I’ll fill you with a cup level of blessing.

If you’ve got a bucket, I’ll fill you with a bucket level of blessing.” Jesus is saying today, “Why don’t you take the limits off? Why don’t you believe for supernatural opportunities? Why don’t you go out each day expecting increase and promotion?” Expect favor, expect peace, expect joy.

If you’ll go out each day expecting far-and-beyond favor, if you’ll “open wide your mouth,” you won’t be disappointed. He’ll fill your cup until it overflows and lead you into the abundant life He has in store for you!

TODAY’S PRAYER

Heavenly Father, I come to You today, giving You all that I am.
I trust that You have a plan for my good.
I trust that You are opening doors that no one can shut.
Thank You for filling me with You today.
In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

What You Say And Believe About You…

Chrisitan Perspectives 2 Comments »

Romans 3:3, (KJV)

“What if some did not believe? Shall their unbelief make the faith of God without effect?” believe

Oftentimes, people allow the opinions of others to hold them back and water down their dreams.

But, we have to realize that there will always be critics and naysayers in life. One of the most important things you can learn is that other people don’t have to believe in you in order for your dreams to come to pass. Other people don’t set the limits for your life — you do!
It’s not what others say about you that affects your life, but what you say and believe about yourself.

When God puts a promise in your heart, it’s not up to other people to bring it to pass, it’s up to you!

In today’s verse, the apostle Paul is saying, “It doesn’t matter if other people don’t believe. Their unbelief is not going to keep me from believing in my dreams.” In other words, you don’t need everyone else to validate you. You only have to follow the voice of God for yourself and allow Him to order your steps.

Today, know that God sees the hidden treasures inside of you. He wants to bring those treasures out and make your dreams reality. Don’t water down your dreams.

Have confidence today because He believes in you, and He is making a way for you!

TODAY’S PRAYER

Father God, thank You for believing in me.
Thank You for placing the dreams and desires in my heart and for enabling them to come to pass.
Help me to see the good plans You have for me so I can confidently fulfill my destiny.
In Jesus’ Name. Amen
